The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the State of Illinois have taken legal action against Chicago-based Premium Home Service (PHS) and its owner, alleging the company created thousands of fake online business listings for home repair services.

The lawsuit, filed by the U.S. Department of Justice on behalf of the FTC, claims PHS misled consumers into believing they were selecting reputable local businesses for home repairs. PHS also allegedly used fake online reviews to inflate ratings and divert customers from legitimate local businesses.

This joint action aims to halt the deceptive practices and protect consumers from fraudulent home repair schemes.
