The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) is inviting qualified individuals and nonprofit organizations to submit grant applications for exhibition proposals to be featured in its physical and virtual galleries during Fiscal Year 2027. Concurrently, CAH is actively recruiting panelists to review its grant programs this summer, offering compensation for their critical input.
Two exhibition proposals will receive grants for curation and installation. The first, a Social Justice Themed Exhibition, is scheduled from January 14 to March 5, 2027. The second, an Open Theme Exhibition, will run from April 1 to May 21, 2027. The deadline for all exhibition applications is Monday, June 29, 2026, at 5 pm EST. Applicants must read the Request for Applications (RFA) thoroughly.
Panelists play an integral role in the grantmaking process, providing reviews, comments, and scores for applications. They receive materials 3 to 4 weeks in advance and convene for a one-day virtual review panel, compensated with a $250 gift card. CAH is an independent agency evaluating and initiating action on arts and humanities within the District of Columbia government.
