The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is encouraging taxpayers, businesses, and tax professionals to utilize its expanding suite of secure online tools available on IRS.gov to efficiently manage various tax-related tasks.

These digital services allow users to access tax records, check refund statuses, make payments, manage payment plans, view notices, request Identity Protection PINs, and handle authorization requests. "IRS.gov gives taxpayers secure options to get information and take action when it is convenient for them," said IRS Chief Executive Officer Frank J. Bisignano. He added that the agency is committed to expanding its online tools as a digital-first entity.

Individual taxpayers can use the IRS Individual Online Account to view balance information, schedule payments, access tax return details, and check refund or amended return statuses. Businesses can leverage the Business Tax Account to view information, manage balances, make federal tax deposits, and access compliance reports, with features varying by business structure and user role. Tax professionals also have access to the Tax Pro Account to manage authorization requests and taxpayer relationships.

Other helpful tools include Get Transcript for personal tax records, Direct Pay for secure payments, and the Payment Plan application. The IRS reminds all users to only access services through IRS.gov and to be wary of suspicious emails, text messages, or social media contact requesting personal or financial information.
