The U.S. Census Bureau today released new data tables from its Household Trends and Outlook Pulse Survey (HTOPS), offering insights into U.S. employment, housing energy expenses, mental health, and social connectedness. This release also includes a new infographic highlighting arts and entertainment activities across the nation.
The data, collected in March 2026 from approximately 136,000 households, provides coverage for the entire nation and specific smaller geographic areas defined by the Census Bureau.
HTOPS is an experimental data product, gathered every other month, designed to monitor socioeconomic conditions facing U.S. households. It aims to deliver near real-time data to assess current conditions, track trends, and support various operational and policy needs.
