Total Nutrition has expanded its recall of TNVitamins and Doctor's Pride Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood Moringa Capsules due to potential contamination with Salmonella. This action follows an ongoing investigation by the FDA and CDC into moringa-containing dietary supplement products.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection can lead to more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.
The recalled products were distributed nationally through online platforms including Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and Target, as well as the company's websites. The recall expansion was prompted by a traceability review that identified a common raw material from Lot 2507199, which was part of the original recalled lots. Total Nutrition has ceased distribution and initiated removal orders across all sales channels.
Customers who have purchased these affected products are urged to dispose of them immediately and should not consume, sell, or serve them. Refunds can be requested by completing a form located at tnvitamins.com/recall.
