The Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) is inviting Arlington neighborhoods, businesses, and organizations to participate in National Night Out (NNO) 2026 on Tuesday, August 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This annual nationwide event aims to strengthen police-community partnerships and foster stronger neighborhood connections.

Communities are encouraged to host various gatherings, such as cookouts, block parties, and ice cream socials, to engage with law enforcement, public safety personnel, and local government officials. The evening focuses on positive relationship-building and fun for all ages, promoting a united front against crime.

Participants are also reminded to implement crime prevention strategies, including the "9 P.M. Routine." This involves locking home and vehicle doors, closing garages, and activating porch lights and security systems before joining neighborhood events.

Neighborhood organizations, community groups, and businesses interested in hosting an event must register by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026. Registration is free and allows police officers and county leaders to attend events as circumstances permit.
