Governor Kay Ivey will officially proclaim September 4, 2026, as College Colors Day in Alabama, an initiative designed to promote higher education across the state.
The proclamation event is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time on the front steps of the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery. Governor Ivey will be joined by college students and mascots representing Alabama’s 14 public universities and institutions.
College Colors Day aims to recognize the significant opportunities these institutions provide in educating, serving, and bettering the lives of Alabama citizens. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and fans are encouraged to wear apparel supporting their favorite university throughout September 4.
