FBI Special Agent Bobby Gutierrez has been recognized as the Freedom 250 Hometown Hero by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon, honoring his significant contributions to public service and community safety.

This national award, part of the Freedom 250 initiative celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States, acknowledges outstanding Americans who positively impact their local communities. SA Gutierrez was specifically chosen for his leadership and dedication to joint downtown fentanyl enforcement missions in Portland.

For the past two years, SA Gutierrez has collaborated with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Portland Police Bureau to target fentanyl dealers. His efforts have coordinated dozens of investigations, resulting in nearly 100 fentanyl distributors being federally charged.

U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford said, "As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, I am honored to present Special Agent Gutierrez as Oregon’s Hometown Hero. Special Agent Gutierrez’s dedication, selfless service, and unwavering commitment have made a lasting impact on the safety and well-being of our community." Bradford added that SA Gutierrez's work has been crucial in reducing fentanyl trafficking, violent crime, and overdoses in downtown Portland, transforming notorious open-air drug markets and helping restore the area to a safe and vibrant community.
