Mayor Bowser and Chairman Mendelson to Host CBCF Reception

Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson will host a "Welcome to Washington Reception" on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to honor the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 55th Annual Legislative Conference. The event will welcome national leaders, advocates, and partners to the nation's capital.

The reception, scheduled from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Capital Hilton, located at 1001 16th Street NW, Washington, DC, celebrates the CBCF ALC theme: "Rooted, Ready, and Rising." This theme pays tribute to collective perseverance, foundational strength, and the future of Black leadership.

Attendees are invited for an evening of fellowship, connection, and celebration, marking the enduring impact of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. The event aims to foster community and acknowledge the significant contributions of Black leaders.
