Governor Kay Ivey announced Wednesday the appointment of Jennifer Rudden Conway to the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles, effective immediately. Conway, who brings 25 years of law enforcement experience, fills the vacancy left by Darryl Littleton's resignation.
Governor Ivey praised Conway's qualifications, saying, "Jennifer Conway possesses a deep knowledge of criminal law matched with decades of first-hand experience investigating and bringing the most hardened offenders to justice. I cannot think of a more qualified person to sit on the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles ensuring each case is carefully reviewed and the public's interest is protected. I look forward to her service."
Conway began her career in 2001 as a Special Agent with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Greensboro, North Carolina. She later moved to the Middle District of Alabama, rising to Senior Special Agent and then Resident Agent in Charge, overseeing investigations into complex federal firearm, arson, and explosive cases. Her work also included combating gang-affiliated drug and firearm activity and contributing to the Metro Area Crime Suppression Unit.
Expressing her commitment, Conway said, "I appreciate Governor Kay Ivey's trust in me and am committed to fulfilling my duties on the board for the people of Alabama. I understand the importance of my role on the board and the need to collaborate with fellow board members to make informed decisions. I take the responsibility of the board very seriously and ensure my decisions will always prioritize public safety." Conway holds a Bachelor's of Science degree from Jacksonville State University. The Governor also made 29 other appointments.
