Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff across the state on Friday, July 24, 2026, to honor Sergeant Adam Amrozi of the Lincoln Park Fire Department, who passed away in the line of duty.

Sergeant Amrozi served the citizens of Lincoln Park for 21 years and previously worked with the Riverview Fire Department. An alumnus of Trenton High School, where he played football and hockey, he is survived by his wife, Sara, and daughter, Genesis.

Governor Whitmer said, “Sergeant Amrozi was a proud family man and dedicated public servant. He was an example of the selflessness, courage, and dedication firefighters across Michigan demonstrate each and every day. Let’s honor this fallen hero and keep his family and the entire Lincoln Park Fire Department in our thoughts.”

Michigan residents, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to join in displaying flags at half-staff. Flags should be returned to full-staff on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
