Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik today announced the approval of 13 economic development projects poised to create 3,553 new jobs and retain 907 existing jobs across the state. These initiatives are expected to generate over $1.1 billion in investments and nearly $310 million in new annual payroll.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA), following reviews of proposals from JobsOhio and its regional partners, approved these projects during its monthly meeting. The approved Job Creation Tax Credits will support a diverse range of industries, from engineering and manufacturing to advanced aerospace and defense.
Notable projects include Electra.aero, Inc., which plans to establish its first U.S. production and assembly facility in Green Township (Clark County) for its hybrid-electric aircraft, creating 1,975 positions and nearly $181.5 million in new annual payroll. BEEHIVE INDUSTRIES, LLC is expanding its defense-focused jet propulsion systems operations across multiple Hamilton and Clermont County locations, adding 200 jobs and over $28 million in payroll.
Other significant investments include ProVia Payroll LLC's expansion in Dover (Tuscarawas County) to accommodate demand for exterior building materials, creating 400 jobs, and Westerman, Inc.'s two projects in Bremen (Fairfield County) and Hebron (Licking County) for metal storage tanks and nuclear transport equipment, collectively adding 345 jobs. Valvoline Global is also relocating its headquarters to Cincinnati (Hamilton County), bringing 54 jobs and over $10.4 million in new payroll.
These approvals underscore Ohio's commitment to fostering economic growth and attracting substantial investment, with projects spanning Central, Northeast, Northwest, Southwest, and West-Central regions of the state. The diverse nature of the approved projects indicates a broad-based economic development strategy.
