Nebraska Governor Signs Landmark Law to Shield State from Foreign Threats

Governor Jim Pillen and Senator Eliot Bostar ceremonially signed LB 1096 in Lincoln, a landmark law designed to protect Nebraska's vital sectors from foreign and biological threats.

The legislation, requested by Governor Pillen and introduced by Senator Bostar, establishes comprehensive safeguards for the state's agricultural economy, energy and utility grids, public records, and communications infrastructure.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Eugene Kowel and national security advocates joined the signing event, underscoring the law's significance in defending against hostile foreign adversaries and biological risks.
