The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is reporting that the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) has established the Resilience and Protection Waqf, a multi-million-dollar endowment fund. NAIT said the fund, launched with a $1 million matching campaign, is designed to educate, train, equip and protect American Muslim communities from rising anti-Muslim hate and violence, and to provide aid to impacted families. NAIT has partnered with CAIR to arrange regional safety trainings for mosques, Islamic private schools and other faith-based institutions. The endowment is dedicated in memory of the three victims of a May 18, 2026, mass shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego.
CAIR-DFW is reporting it will join Faith Power Alliance and MAS-Dallas in a protest Monday, June 1, at 5 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas. The protest calls for the reinstatement of Shayma Alzubi, a Fort Worth ISD principal reassigned due to what is described as an online "anti-Muslim witch hunt."
CAIR-DFW also announced plans to participate in a press conference Tuesday, June 2, at 5 p.m. in Grand Prairie, Texas. The event will address the cancellation of a planned Eid celebration at Epic Waters, which CAIR-DFW said followed political pressure from Texas Governor Greg Abbott and a coordinated campaign of anti-Muslim rhetoric.
CAIR noted that anti-Muslim hate complaints reached a record high in 2025, with over 8,600 complaints nationwide, the highest recorded since the organization's first civil rights report in 1996.
