Bridgeport man Jaime Santiago, 44, was sentenced today to 60 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in New Haven for distributing fentanyl.
The sentence also includes four years of supervised release. Santiago had pleaded guilty on January 22, 2026, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 40 grams or more of fentanyl.
The conviction stemmed from a 2024 investigation by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and Bridgeport Police Department into an open-air drug market near Noble Avenue and Shelton Street. Investigators conducted 11 controlled purchases and used wiretaps and physical surveillance, identifying Santiago as a key fentanyl supplier.
Santiago was arrested on February 12, 2025, and is currently released on a $25,000 bond. He is ordered to report to prison on September 24. The multi-agency investigation involved the FBI, Connecticut State Police, and police departments from Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Trumbull, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark prosecuting the case.
