FCI Allenwood Inmate Indicted for Weapon Possession and Assault

An inmate at FCI Allenwood, Mark Villareal, 44, was indicted on June 11, 2026, by a federal grand jury for allegedly possessing a weapon in prison and assaulting another inmate, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced.

According to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, Villareal faces one count of possessing contraband in prison and one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. He is accused of using an inmate-manufactured knife to assault another prisoner.

Both the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger is prosecuting the matter. If found guilty, Villareal could face a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine.

It is important to note that indictments are merely allegations, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
