The CSIS Defense and Security Department will host its annual Global Security Forum on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, focusing on "America at 250: A Defining Moment for American Statecraft and Military Power." The forum, taking place from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EDT in Washington, D.C., and via webcast, will explore critical issues facing American security.

The event will feature a series of fireside chats and panel discussions with prominent figures from government, industry, finance, military, and academia. A key conversation, titled "What Must America Defend? The Future of American Statecraft," will include Mr. Paul Ryan, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives; Mr. Vincent J. Viola, Founder & Chairman Emeritus of Virtu Financial; and Ms. Jennifer Griffin, Chief National Security Correspondent for Fox News.

Additional sessions planned for the forum include discussions on "The End of Sanctuary: The Evolution of Homeland Defense," "Building at Scale: Implementing the Defense Industrial Base Reform Agenda," "Patriotic Capital: Financing Industrial Strength and Security," and "The Future of Command: Leadership Through Crisis and Change."
