U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of several "worst of the worst" criminal illegal aliens, including individuals convicted of child sexual offenses and drug trafficking. These arrests are part of ICE's ongoing efforts to target public safety threats.
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, "Yesterday, the brave men and women of ICE arrested pedophiles, drug traffickers, and other public safety threats." Bis added that nearly 70% of ICE arrests involve illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the United States, fulfilling President Trump’s promise to enhance national safety.
Among those arrested were Donis Antonio Angel from El Salvador, convicted of aggravated sexual battery of a child in Virginia, and Welvin Geovanny Esquivel-Hernandez from Guatemala, convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in Maryland. Jairo Adelcy Zepeda-Vallecillo from Honduras was arrested for a sex offense against a child in Connecticut.
Other arrests included Daniel Ramos-Chavez from Mexico, convicted for child endangerment and drug possession in Utah, and Santiago Londono-Velez from Colombia, convicted for cocaine distribution in New York.
