Over the past 24 hours, solar activity remained high, with four sunspot regions currently visible on the solar disk. The forecast suggests moderate solar activity from July 4th to July 6th, with a 20% chance of an X-class flare on the first two days and a 10% chance on the third.
Geomagnetic conditions have fluctuated from quiet to active levels. Solar wind speed peaked at 585 km/s, and the total Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) reached 16 nT. Electrons greater than 2 MeV at geosynchronous orbit hit a peak of 408 pfu.
Looking ahead, the geomagnetic field is expected to range from quiet to major storm levels on July 4th, then quiet to minor storm levels on July 5th, and quiet to active levels on July 6th. There is also a slight chance of proton events crossing thresholds throughout this period.
