U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently apprehended several criminal illegal aliens, including individuals convicted of heinous crimes such as lewd acts with a child, first-degree rape, and aggravated sexual assault. These arrests are part of ICE's ongoing efforts, where nearly 70% of its arrests involve illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S.
Among those arrested were Efrain Banuelos-Lopez, convicted for lewd acts with a child under 14 in Norwalk, California, and Sengkham Soumpholphakdy, convicted for first-degree rape and three counts of first-degree sodomy in Springfield, Oregon. Juan Arrue-Mancia, convicted of aggravated sexual assault in Hillsdale, New Jersey, and Omar Cortes-Castillo, convicted of sexual assault in Austin, Texas, were also apprehended. Silverio Garcia-Rodriguez was arrested in Mobile, Alabama, for firearm possession by an illegal alien.
Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, "Day in and day out, the brave men and women of ICE are removing the worst of the worst from American communities." Bis added that "Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE is unleashed to arrest and remove illegal aliens and make America safe again."
