ISCO Industries, a global piping products supplier, has opened a new $12.75 million manufacturing facility in Louisville, Kentucky, which is expected to create 50 new full-time jobs and double the company's current footprint in the city. Governor Andy Beshear highlighted this expansion as a sign of continued momentum in the state's manufacturing industry.
Governor Beshear praised Kentucky-based companies for reinvesting in their communities, stating, "A key driver of our historic economic momentum has been Kentucky-based companies continuing to reinvest in the communities they serve." He added that the new facility demonstrates the state's resources, business-friendly environment, and skilled workforce.
Mark Kirchdorfer, president of ISCO, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, noting it helps meet rising customer demands for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping products and represents another investment in Louisville. The company, founded in Louisville in 1962 by Jim Kirchdorfer Sr., has grown into one of North America's largest piping solutions providers.
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg emphasized ISCO's commitment to its hometown, saying, "ISCO Industries is a Louisville-born and grown company that continues to reinvest in its hometown." Trevor Pawl, CEO of One Louisville, highlighted the facility's role in amplifying ISCO's ability to create and distribute piping solutions globally, contributing to Louisville's innovation and manufacturing ecosystem.
This investment contributes to Kentucky's record economic growth, with Gov. Beshear's administration announcing over $50 billion in investments and 70,000 jobs created. The state has also seen record exports, falling unemployment rates, and improved credit ratings, solidifying its position in economic development.
