Governor Mikie Sherrill announced the launch of the Welcome World Rewards Program on June 1, an initiative by the NYNJ Host Committee designed to support New Jersey's small businesses and communities during the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
The digital rewards program allows participants to earn points by visiting participating small businesses and attending World Cup Community Initiative events across the state. These points can be redeemed for exclusive prizes and experiences, including tickets to FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches, concerts, and local sporting events.
This program is part of New Jersey's broader $5 million NJ World Cup Community Initiative, a statewide effort to fund watch parties, cultural festivals, and community events in all 21 counties. Governor Sherrill highlighted the program's role in showcasing New Jersey's culture and businesses, stating, "The Welcome World Rewards Program gives residents and visitors a fun, interactive way to experience the tournament beyond the stadium while supporting local businesses across our state."
Alex Lasry, CEO of the NYNJ Host Committee, emphasized that the program encourages fans to explore New Jersey communities and experience the tournament's energy beyond match days. The initiative aims to ensure the economic and cultural impact of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ extends throughout the region.
