Columbia Community Service (CCS) recently celebrated its 79th Annual Appeal, bringing together leaders from local nonprofits at the Lee C. Bollinger Forum on the Manhattanville campus. This annual event serves as an opportunity to welcome new grantees, foster networking, and reflect on the significant impact these programs have on strengthening the local community.
During its 79th campaign, CCS successfully distributed nearly $250,000 in grants. These funds were allocated to 47 distinct nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving the neighborhoods of Harlem and Morningside Heights.
The supported grantees address critical community needs, including combating hunger, delivering essential social services, promoting arts and culture, and closing educational disparities for local youth. Their work spans vital areas such as STEM, literacy, and various artistic disciplines, underscoring CCS's commitment to comprehensive community development.
