The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently deported several illegal alien gang members, including individuals convicted of serious crimes such as attempted murder, driving under the influence, and burglary. These deportations occurred last week, targeting those with extensive criminal histories.
Among those removed were Eddy Ely Lopez, a Surenos gang member from Mexico with convictions for attempted murder and firearm use, and Marco Obdulio Sarmiento Crispin, an MS-13 member from Guatemala with arrests for homicide and drug possession. Candelario Gomez-Vasquez, a Paisas gang member from Mexico, was deported after convictions for DUI, robbery, and illegal re-entry.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, “Last week, ICE deported more vicious illegal alien gang members from our country, including those convicted for attempted murder, driving under the influence, and burglary.” He added, “America is no longer a safe haven for illegal aliens. If you are here illegally, we will find you, arrest you, and deport you.” Other deportees included Julian Patino Espinoza, a Crips member, and Cristian Adonay Melgar-Cermeno, a Latin Kings member.
