Fairfax County is set to host a diverse array of activities and essential services from Friday, July 24, to Sunday, July 26, 2026, including expanded early voting opportunities, refreshing waterpark access, and a vibrant Summer Entertainment Series.
A significant highlight of the weekend is the expansion of early voting for the August 4 Primary Election, with 16 locations opening across the county. Voters can cast their ballots on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For those looking to beat the summer heat, Fairfax County’s waterparks and spray grounds, including The Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole, Our Special Harbor, and Cub Run Leisure Pool, will be open with varying times throughout the weekend, offering slides, flumes, and interactive water features.
The weekend also features a variety of community events. On Friday, Animal Services will host a low-cost Vaccine and Microchip Clinic in Lorton, while the Thomas Jefferson Library offers an America 250 Pop-up Craft to make Colonial-style tricorn hats. Saturday brings "Nature's Hidden Heroes" at Lake Accotink Park, providing an up-close encounter with fascinating creatures, and an "Improv Workshop: Unexpectedly Funny" at the City of Fairfax Regional Library.
