The Ohio Governor's Office has announced that sign-ups are now open for the Fall 2026 Team Tressel Fitness Challenge, a statewide initiative designed to instill lifelong healthy habits in students across Ohio. This program aims to improve physical and mental health by focusing on fitness, nutrition, and sleep.

The challenge, open to students in grades 3-8, is a 30-day, student-led program that schools can integrate into their schedules. Participants receive workbooks guiding them through five activity groups: cardio, strength, flexibility, nutrition, and sleep. Students progress through Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, setting SMART goals and tracking their achievements to become a Healthy Habits Champion.

Eligibility extends to students in public, private, community, and homeschool settings, with flexibility for completion before, during, or after school. A new Summer 2026 Challenge is also available for families to participate in, promoting shared goals and active time together.

The initiative emphasizes building self-discipline and confidence, with future challenges already planned to continue fostering a healthier next generation in Ohio. Sign-ups for the fall challenge close on August 7, 2026.
