Nearly 600,000 Alaskans will begin receiving their 2026 Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) of $1,000.00, plus an additional $200.00 energy relief payment, starting October 1, the Department of Revenue announced.
The amount of this year's PFD was determined by the Alaska Legislature in House Bill 263. For 2026 PFD applications filed electronically, with direct deposit requested, and in "Eligible-Not Paid" status as of September 18, 2026, payment will be disbursed on October 1, 2026. Applications in "Eligible-Not Paid" status as of October 12, 2026 — including paper and electronic applications and those requesting direct deposit or check payments — will be paid on October 22, 2026. Alaskans are encouraged to use the state's MyPFD website to check the status of their application.
Acting Attorney General Cori Mills announced a settlement with Payless Used Car Sales, LLC over document fees it did not include in the prices it advertised for its cars on its website. Under Alaska law, motor vehicle dealers must include all dealer fees in the advertised price of their vehicles. Consumers charged hidden fees by Payless will be eligible for $100 payments, and the State estimates Payless will pay more than $500,000 in restitution. Payless must provide the State with a final report of the number of people owed restitution within 90 days of court approval of the settlement.
"Alaska's law on dealer fees is clear," said Acting Attorney General Mills. "It is unacceptable for a business to offer one price online and then a higher price at the dealership as a result of tacking on previously undisclosed dealer fees."
Mills also announced that Alaska, as part of a coalition of 44 attorneys general, has settled with the Laboratory Corporation of America ("Labcorp") after a multistate investigation into the 2019 data breach that leaked personal patient information through a medical debt collector. Labcorp used Retrieval-Masters Creditors Bureau d/b/a American Medical Collection Agency ("AMCA") to handle outstanding customer bills, transferring patient information to AMCA in the process. The 2019 AMCA breach potentially exposed the personal information of over 27.5 million individuals nationwide, including 10.2 million Labcorp patients, of which 82,958 are Alaska residents. The multistate coalition settled with AMCA in 2021 after the company's bankruptcy petition was dismissed.

DOT&PF encourages public participation in the review process.
