Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced her administration has built more than 10,000 units of affordable housing across the city, four times more affordable housing units built yearly compared to the prior five years.
Bass was joined by Councilmember Imelda Padilla and community leaders for the announcement. Since taking office, Bass has used her executive power to cut red tape and eliminate bureaucratic barriers that have slowed housing production in Los Angeles for decades, according to the mayor's office.
On Thursday, September 24, Bass will chair the regularly scheduled Metro Board meeting at 10:00 in Downtown L.A. Media can RSVP to lamayornews@lacity.org. No other public events are scheduled.
