The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued an arrest detainer for Michael Salomon Rosario-Cruz, an illegal alien from Mexico, who is charged with four counts of second-degree murder following a fatal drunk-driving crash in Canadian County, Oklahoma. The incident occurred on May 22, 2026, at half past midnight, when Rosario-Cruz was reportedly driving the wrong way on I-40 and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The crash tragically killed four young Americans: Kiercy Hickson (20), Haliegh Salazar (18), Quincy Jones (19), and Brad Palmer (18), all between 18 and 20 years old. Rosario-Cruz, who was initially hospitalized in critical condition, was released on May 24 and booked into Canadian County Jail.
He now faces multiple charges, including four counts of second-degree murder, two counts of DUI causing great bodily injury, transporting an open container, possession of a firearm with an altered identification during a felony, carrying firearms while under the influence, and driving the wrong way on a one-way road. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, "Four young Americans had their lives taken in Oklahoma by a criminal illegal alien who recklessly drove drunk. This tragedy was completely preventable. This illegal alien should have never been in our country."
