The geomagnetic field experienced active to severe storm levels over the past 24 hours, while solar activity remained high with five sunspot regions, according to a joint report from the USAF and NOAA.

Solar activity is predicted to be moderate, with a slight chance of X-class flares on July 5th and 6th, and a slight chance of M-class flares on July 7th. The geomagnetic field is expected to calm to quiet to minor storm levels on July 5th, then quiet to active on July 6th, and quiet levels on July 7th.

There is also a slight chance for protons greater than 10 MeV to cross threshold on both July 5th and 6th. Middle latitudes face a 25% chance of minor storms on July 5th, while high latitudes have a 60% chance of major-severe storms on the same day.
