Breaking Defense is reporting that the Space Force anticipates a significant increase in National Security Space Launch Phase 3 Lane 1 missions. It said the service now expects 170 launches between 2025 and 2034, a substantial jump from the previous projection of 60, supported by an additional $11 billion in funding.
Breaking Defense also noted the Federal Communications Commission has approved streamlining satellite spectrum licenses. The Commercial Space Federation said this move reduces regulatory burdens and is crucial for continued American innovation and space superiority.
Separately, Breaking Defense highlighted Raytheon's work in developing next-generation interceptors. It said Raytheon leverages decades of experience simulating cosmic conditions to track and defeat ballistic missiles.
