Davon Nelson, a 41-year-old Baltimore man, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for possessing a weapon while incarcerated at Allenwood Federal Correctional Institution. Chief United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann handed down the sentence.
The incident occurred on October 8, 2024. United States Attorney Brian D. Miller said that on that date, Nelson, then an inmate, possessed an inmate-made, sharpened steel weapon measuring 4 ½ inches in length.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger prosecuted the case for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
