The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has released a new podcast episode featuring activist Linda Sarsour, while also urging the Senate to support an Iran War Powers Resolution and condemning recent Israeli actions in Gaza. CAIR, the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, highlighted these key issues in its latest news briefs.
The new "CAIR on AIR" podcast episode features Linda Sarsour discussing the "sea change" in American awareness of Israeli actions against Palestinians. She also analyzes recent elections where AIPAC-backed officials lost, considers the impact of the Gaza aftermath on the 2028 presidential election, and offers advice to young Americans entering politics.
CAIR called on the Senate to support the Iran War Powers Resolution following threats by President Donald J Trump to attack civilian infrastructure in Iran. Robert McCaw, CAIR Government Affairs Director, said, "Bombing civilian infrastructure is a blatant war crime that would cause untold deaths and suffering." He added that such attacks would endanger lives, escalate conflict, and risk American soldiers and taxpayer dollars.
Furthermore, CAIR condemned the killing of 13 people, including four children, in Gaza by Israeli forces. CAIR said, "Every day, the genocidal Israeli government violates the so-called ceasefire it signed last year. Israeli forces have not stopped massacring Palestinians – men, women and children." The organization urged Congress to condemn these actions and vote to end all aid to the Israeli government.
