A retired Air Force Major, Daniel Martin Brown, 63, of Leeds, Alabama, has been indicted on charges related to the production and possession of child sexual abuse material. Acting U.S. Attorney Catherine L. Crosby announced the five-count indictment.
Filed in the U.S. District Court, the indictment charges Brown with four counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count of possession of child pornography. The alleged incidents occurred between January 2014 and December 2025 in Jefferson County, Alabama. The FBI Birmingham Division investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney R. Leann White prosecuting.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation. Authorities remind the public that an indictment contains only charges, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
