A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck near the Andreanof Islands in Alaska's Aleutian Islands early Friday, according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The seismic event occurred at 01:03:16 UTC on July 24, 2026, at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers. Its epicenter was located at 51.102N, 176.065W, approximately 94.6 kilometers (58.6 miles) southeast of Adak, Alaska.

Seismologists at the National Earthquake Information Center have reviewed the event. No immediate reports of damage or injuries were available following the tremor in the remote region.
