Representative James Walkinshaw is inviting Virginians to submit short videos sharing their perspectives on America as the nation approaches its 250th birthday. The initiative, part of the America 250 celebration, seeks to gather insights on what citizens love about the country and their hopes for its future.
Participants are asked to record a video, two minutes or less, responding to one of several prompts. These include questions such as "What do you love about America?", "What does patriotism mean to you?", and "What is your hope for this country for the next 250 years?" The project aims to compile a collection showcasing what it means to be an American from the viewpoint of Virginians.
To participate, individuals must review submission guidelines, record their video, and complete an appearance release form. The release form should be emailed to RepWalkinshawPress@Mail.House.Gov. Videos must be submitted through a designated portal by Thursday, July 2, 2026. Rep. Walkinshaw expressed his anticipation of hearing from people across his district, emphasizing the project as an opportunity to reflect on the ideals of freedom, justice, and equality.
