Google Beam is expanding to six countries with support from 18 channel partners, alongside new hardware and the launch of its first extended network.
The rollout covers the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany and Japan. The experience is delivered by flagship hardware partner HP as HP Dimension with Google Beam, and integrates with both Google Meet and Zoom to give organizations flexibility in everyday conversations.
Google said internal testing shows the technology's impact. In a recent eight-week internal study, Google teams using Beam felt 50% more connected to one another, found it 33% easier to ensure their feedback was clearly understood, and saw a 21% drop in the need for follow-up meetings.
"We've tested Beam with early users, including in our own offices, and shown how it can help transform everyday meetings into authentic moments of connection," said Aaron Luber, Director, Business Development, Google Beam.
The company is also testing the technology with outside partners. Earlier this year, Google worked with Bain and Company to test how HP Dimension with Google Beam could help transform campus recruiting and candidate interviews, allowing Bain to create face-to-face connections with candidates from anywhere without extensive travel. Other first customers include Netflix and Capital Group.
To make Beam accessible to organizations of all sizes, Google is partnering with Industrious, a global operator of premium flexible workspaces, to create the first-ever Beam extended network. A pilot earlier this year showed distributed teams using it for manager check-ins, interviews and client consultations.
Starting in October, people can book and experience HP Dimension with Google Beam at select Industrious locations across the U.S., including Atlanta, Chicago, New York City and Palo Alto.
"The way we work is evolving, but the need for genuine human connection remains constant," Google said, adding that organizations worldwide can explore more real-world use cases as it continues expanding its own deployment of Beam for Googlers alongside its customers.
