The U.S. Census Bureau is hosting its GeoForum conference this week, focusing on geospatial data, while also reminding residents in Huntsville, Alabama, and Spartanburg, South Carolina, to participate in the 2026 Census Test.
The virtual GeoForum, held Tuesday and Wednesday, gathers Census Bureau geographers and data practitioners to explore the creation, maintenance, and dissemination of modern geospatial data and products. The 2026 Census Test is the first operational test supporting the upcoming 2030 Census, and households in designated areas that received an invitation are urged to respond online using their unique Census ID.
Additionally, the Census Bureau will release new data, including 2023 Local Air Conditioning Estimates on May 19, Community Resilience Estimates for Puerto Rico on May 21, and 2024 School Enrollment on May 26. Economic indicators such as April 2026 New Residential Construction and the First Quarter 2026 Advance Services Report are also due May 21. The bureau also highlights its "Stats for Stories" article for Memorial Day, observed May 25. Several webinars on data modeling, workforce insights, and mapping tools are scheduled for May 27 and 28.
