CAIR and CAIR Action are set to launch their 2026 August Recess Advocacy Toolkit and host a national webinar on Thursday, July 30, at 8:30 p.m. ET, aiming to empower American Muslims and their allies to engage members of Congress during the upcoming congressional recess.
The toolkit will focus on critical issues including halting deeper U.S.-Israel military and intelligence integration, safeguarding equal protection and free speech, opposing anti-Muslim attacks in Congress, and preventing unauthorized regional war. The U.S. House of Representatives will be in recess from July 24 to August 31, while the Senate's recess runs from August 8 to September 14.
This period offers a vital opportunity for constituents to interact with lawmakers in their home states and districts through town halls, office meetings, and community events. The toolkit provides essential information, talking points, constituent questions, and legislative asks to facilitate effective advocacy.
In related news, CAIR-NY is offering a reward for information regarding anti-Muslim threats, with Executive Director Afaf Nasher saying, "No one should have to fear for their safety because of their faith or because they are perceived to be Muslim." CAIR-MI condemned anti-Arab racism by a Farmington Hills School Board Trustee, and CAIR welcomed the Altoona Public Library's condemnation of Islamophobia.
