U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested three Venezuelan nationals in West Virginia, who are charged with larceny following two separate thefts on July 26, after they were previously released into the country.
The incidents included the theft of $21,000 worth of jewelry from a secure display case at a Walmart in Weston, which was undergoing flood damage repairs. Two suspects, Deivis Willyan Diaz and Daniel Alberto Arias Ramirez, were arrested and charged with grand larceny and conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with this incident. A separate theft in Sutton led to the arrest of Oscar Jose Hernandez Silva, who faces a petit larceny charge.
All three individuals are identified as criminal illegal aliens from Venezuela. Diaz illegally entered the U.S. through Texas in April 2024, and Ramirez in December 2023; both were released by the Biden Administration. Diaz has a prior criminal history including arrests for assault and carrying a concealed weapon in Colorado, while Ramirez has a final order of removal issued on December 4, 2024.
A DHS Spokesperson said, "None of these illegal aliens would have been in our country if it weren’t for the reckless open-border policies of the Biden Administration, which RELEASED them all into our communities." The spokesperson added that thanks to state and local partners, these individuals are now in ICE custody and will be removed from the country.
