The Sierra Club is reporting that it has released an environmental issues guide urging voters to confirm their registration status and prepare for Election Day on Nov. 3. It said voters should check their registration even if they believe they are already registered, noting that certain states are purging eligible voters and that South Carolina, Alaska and Rhode Island have registration deadlines within days. The group also pointed to the Election Protection Hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE for questions.

It said early voting is available in 31 states, with timing varying by state, and that voters casting mail-in ballots should send them at least one week before Election Day. The Sierra Club said this administration is trying to make voting more confusing so fewer people participate, and it encouraged voters to follow their original plans and to track their ballots where possible.

The Sierra Club said the Trump administration has followed the Project 2025 playbook as a giveaway to corporate polluters since day one in office. It said the administration has moved to sell off public lands, reduce protections for endangered species, dismantle clean energy policies and pollute air and water, while courting corporate polluters and racing to build data centers.

It said corporate polluters and billionaires spent a reported $1.2 billion to influence the 2026 elections, arguing that such spending shows elections carry real consequences. The group said staying home on Election Day benefits special interests that want to pollute the climate, air and water.

The Sierra Club also warned about election-season disinformation, citing gerrymandering, restrictive voter ID laws and efforts to limit mail-in voting. It advised people to be skeptical of new information, pause before sharing emotionally charged content and verify sources.

It said elections are one way people participate in democracy and influence decisions on public lands, clean air and water, energy policy and climate protections. The Sierra Club said voting is one important step and that supporters must continue to act, march, lobby and testify year-round, adding that collective action can produce real change.
