Operation Viper, a multi-agency law enforcement initiative in Arkansas, has resulted in 39 arrests, the seizure of 35 firearms, significant quantities of narcotics and money, and nine federal indictments for firearms violations.\n\nThe high-intensity fugitive apprehension operation, coordinated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas and the FBI’s Little Rock Field Office, executed 26 warrants. Seizures from Operation Viper included $74,400 in illegal proceeds, approximately 100 pounds of marijuana, and large quantities of fentanyl and other illicit pills.\n\nU.S. Attorney Jonathan D. Ross said, "Together with our law enforcement partners, our office seeks to remove as many violent and repeat offenders from our communities as possible." Special Agent in Charge Jason Van Goor of the FBI Little Rock Field Office added, "Violent crime will not be tolerated in our state, and we will continue to aggressively target and hold accountable those who endanger our communities."\n\nOn June 2, 2026, a federal grand jury indicted nine individuals: Werrick Baines, Kenny Lamar Branson, Ynohtna W. Carroll, Leon Harris, Charles Edward Layton, III, Jeffery Wayne Murdock, Terjun Tramaine Parker, Zavier Marqise Rhodes, and Kaylon Roshon Robinson. These individuals face federal charges including felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a machinegun, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.\n\nThe operation involved numerous agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Marshals Service, Arkansas State Police, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, White County Sheriff’s Office, Little Rock Police Department, North Little Rock Police Department, Pine Bluff Police Department, Arkansas Community Correction, and the STAR Team from Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services.
