The U.S. Department of War today launched Starshield AI's Grok for Government on its generative AI platform, GenAI.mil, significantly expanding frontier AI capabilities for warfighters.

This new tool, accredited for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) at Impact Level 5, is designed for secure, consistent enterprise use, offering immediate productivity gains, enhanced knowledge continuity, and more efficient collaboration. Grok for Government provides advanced features such as deep-thinking inference, adaptive reasoning modes, customizable workspaces, and reusable "playbooks" to scale institutional knowledge.

The deployment marks a key milestone in the Department's AI Acceleration Strategy, aiming to enable the Joint Force to execute missions faster and with greater precision across various operational contexts, from market research to supply chain management. GenAI.mil has already attracted over 1.7 million unique users within nine months, demonstrating the Department's commitment to leveraging AI.

The Department, through the Chief Digital and AI Office (CDAO) and the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering, plans to continue scaling frontier AI as a force multiplier. This initiative supports the White House's AI Action Plan and reinforces the Department of War's dedication to leading AI adoption for warfighter mission sets and decision superiority.
