Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) officers removed 63 impaired drivers and issued hundreds of traffic charges in July as part of their Summer Crime Prevention Initiative, significantly enhancing road safety. The initiative focused on reducing impaired driving and promoting safe behaviors across the county.
Enforcement efforts saw officers from all eight district stations collaborate with the DWI Enforcement Squad. They were strategically deployed to high-risk areas based on crime analyst data, resulting in 86 speeding charges, 96 reckless driving charges, 63 charges for failing to obey highway signs, and 26 hands-free cellphone violations.
The FCPD highlighted the positive impact on traffic safety throughout July. Residents are encouraged to register their cameras with Connect Fairfax to assist FCPD in solving crimes and supporting investigations.
