Media Monitor: CBC News Reports on White House Denial, ALS Patient Death, and Olympic Village Conditions

CBC News is reporting that the White House is denying reports that the U.S. ordered a 'second strike' on alleged cartel boats. It said The Washington Post reported Pete Hegseth gave a verbal order to kill all crew members as part of a Sept. 2 attack, but the U.S. defense secretary called the claim 'fake news'.

CBC News is also reporting that an American ALS patient died alone after paying $84,000 U.S. for treatment at a controversial facility in Saskatchewan. Former employees say the Dr. Goodenowe Restorative Health Center in Moose Jaw, Sask., left the 70-year-old woman to fight for her life alone as her condition worsened.

In other news, CBC is reporting that the Cortina Olympic Village, which will house athletes for the Milan-Cortina Olympics, is a trailer park featuring 400 mobile homes in an alpine valley.
