Governor Sherrill signed multiple bills into law today, addressing environmental protection, economic incentives, housing development, electric vehicle infrastructure, and local government financing.
One significant bill, SCS for S-1281/A-5048, prohibits the sale, manufacture, and distribution of certain apparel and diaper products containing intentionally added perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Another, S-4390/A-5165, known as the "End Data Center Tax Credits Act," reduces tax credits available for the Next New Jersey Program.
Further legislation includes A-3877/S-2960, which establishes State funding preferences for municipalities that enhance housing development opportunities. A-4531/S-3738 sets alternative compliance standards for electric vehicle supply equipment and Make-Ready parking spaces, while A-4687/S-757 concerns local government financing for firefighting apparatus and equipment.
