A Mexican national living in New Jersey has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for distributing cocaine and illegally possessing firearms, U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer announced.
Hector Riano-Corcuera, 34, of East Brunswick, received the 120-month sentence from U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi on May 19, 2026, in Trenton federal court. He had pleaded guilty on January 8, 2026, to a two-count Information charging him with controlled substance distribution and unlawful firearm possession by a convicted felon.
Riano-Corcuera was arrested in June 2025 by Drug Enforcement Administration officers after selling approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine. During his arrest, he attempted to flee, and officers found a loaded Sig Sauer 9mm firearm in his bag. A subsequent search of his home uncovered additional cocaine, two semiautomatic rifles, three handguns, and ammunition.
Beyond the prison term, Judge Quraishi ordered five years of supervised release and the forfeiture of firearms and ammunition used in the offense. U.S. Attorney Frazer credited the Drug Enforcement Administration and numerous other law enforcement agencies for their investigation leading to the conviction.
