The Washington Post is reporting that the Supreme Court has temporarily allowed Alabama to implement a 2023 redistricting map. A lower court had previously found this map intentionally discriminated on the basis of race and diluted the political power of the state’s Black voters. The high court’s ruling, though temporary, will permit state officials to use the map, which advantages Republicans in six of Alabama’s seven congressional districts.
