Fairfax City residents are invited to participate in National Night Out on August 4, an annual event aimed at fostering stronger community ties and enhancing crime prevention efforts.
From 5 to 8 p.m., neighborhoods across the city will see residents locking their doors, illuminating outside lights, and gathering with neighbors and local police. This initiative seeks to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention, generate support for local anti-crime efforts, and strengthen police-community partnerships.
The event also serves to inform criminals that neighborhoods are organized and actively engaged in fighting back against crime. Residents planning to host a neighborhood event are encouraged to register by August 1. For questions, participants can contact Kevin Bartechko at 703-385-7924.
