Columbia University faculty, staff, and students have garnered a remarkable array of prestigious awards and fellowships between April 16 and May 27, 2026, recognizing excellence across diverse fields from arts and humanities to science and engineering. Eight Columbia faculty members were elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, including Keren Bergman and George Chauncey. Additionally, Michael Kaplan, Ingrid Laubrock, and John Miller received 2026 Guggenheim Fellowships for independent projects. The National Academy of Sciences welcomed Simon Brendle, Andrew Gelman, and Hashim M. Al-Hashimi, while J.
